This route is located in the south of the state, in a region dominated by rivers, lagoons and springs, very close to the border with Guatemala: According to 18 colonial documents, it was the region where Hernán Cortés ordered the execution of the last Aztec emperor “Cuahtemoc”

How to get there: It is located on the road Escárcega-Villahermosa, at the height of the town Nuevo Coahuila, taking the detour towards Monclova (kilometer 13.5), which leads directly to the site. There are approximately 51 kilometers from Candelaria, follow the road to the state of Mexico-Monclova, and between State of Mexico and Monclova there is a deviation of 9.3 kilometers to the archaeological site of El Tigre.
