Navigating by boat through mangroves and hillocks is an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life, especially for children who experience it as something magical and as pure adventure.
Through the Petenes Nature Reserve, among its exuberant flora and fauna, you will find a true bath of life. Learn about the different white, red and black mangroves, which arise from the mixing of fresh water from rivers and springs with salt-water from along the coast. You will also probably see hawksbill turtles, pelicans and pink flamingos.
Turn off the boat's engine and row, hearing only the sounds of water and the creatures of this natural paradise. Pay attention so that you don't get caught in one of the tree branches that fall on the water.

Bring comfortable clothes and shoes, a hat and a raincoat. Don't forget your camera and binoculars, if you have them. Sunscreen and bio-degradable insect repellent are also important.
