
Its name in Maya means “Casa de los Itzaes”. The city became the regional capital from the western peninsula between the years 400 a.c and 1000 a.c. They were wise in Architecture and in Engineer. A good example of this is the construction of a series of channels and dams to store and distribute the water.

HOW TO GET THERE
To exit the City you should take the central road until reaching the intersection on the highway and turn on the exit direction Merida.
On the second intersection turn right direction the town of Tixmucuy.
In the 9th km you will find the ex hacienda Yax ha, were you can practice adventure tourism.
Afterwards 3 km ahead you can find the intersection heading to the Hacienda Uayamon, a five star hotel that counts with a great restaurant, previous reservation at www.thehaciendas.com
Further on the 35 km you reach the intersection where you turn left heading the archeological site of Edzna. (If you head straight you will find the town of Tixmucuy where Rancho San Pedro is located at this place there are cabins and pools to enjoy the day and spend the night)
10 km ahead is the intersection where you make a right turn and you will find the archeological site of Edzna.
TRANSPORTATION
It is recommended to go with a tour operator, car rental is recommended as well with an extra cost of 350 pesos per 3 hours.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The town of Uzazil is located only 2 km from there, you can find grocery shops where you can buy food and beverages.
It is important to consider buying water, beverages and food before traveling since there are no restaurants around close to the archeological site.
